Hey friends, Pizza night is a big deal in our house, and I wanted a dough we could enjoy often without the discomfort that sometimes comes with regular wheat. This Spelt Pizza Dough has become our go-to recipe! It rolls out easily, bakes up with crisp edges and a soft, classic pizza crust inside, and it just feels better for our family. My twins actually fight over who gets to help make it, which tells me everything I need to know.
I first started milling my own flour because two of my sons struggled with chronic stomach issues for years. We tried everything, but nothing really changed until I started using freshly milled whole grains. That shift made such a difference for our family, and it’s why I’m so passionate about sharing recipes like this Spelt Pizza Dough with you. That’s also why I’m excited to partner with Grand Teton Ancient Grains. They are a regenerative organic family farm and mill in Idaho restoring ancient grains. I used their Spelt Berries to mill my flour for this recipe, and the pizza dough turns out great every single time! My older kids even said this crust is their new favorite, which is a big compliment coming from them since they’ve eaten plenty of restaurant and frozen pizzas. Before discovering ancient grains, I never realized how many options there were beyond all-purpose flour. Now pizza night is something we look forward to even more, and it makes my heart so happy knowing we can enjoy it without worry. Thank you so much for being here and for supporting the brands that make it possible for me to keep creating recipes for you. I hope you’ll give this pizza dough a try and make it part of your own family traditions. Happy baking, P.S. Curious about baking with fresh milled flour? It’s not as difficult or time-consuming as you may think. I put together a free Starter Guide you can download, and I’d love for you to check it out. Feel free to reply if you have any questions. I’m always happy to help. |
